Getting Started

Platform Overview

Our platform connects business owners with potential investors, partners, and resources to help businesses grow. Here's how the platform works:

  • For Business Owners: Create a profile for your business, specify what you're looking for (funding, partnerships, advice), and connect with interested investors or partners.
  • For Investors: Browse business listings, filter by criteria that match your interests, and connect with businesses that have potential.

To get the most out of our platform, we recommend completing your profile and exploring the available resources in your dashboard.

Creating Your Account

Follow these steps to create a new account:

  1. Click the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner of the homepage
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password
  3. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox
  4. Complete your profile information including your name and contact details
  5. Select whether you're a business owner, investor, or both

Once your account is created, you'll have access to your personalized dashboard where you can manage all aspects of your account.

Managing Your Business

Creating a Business Listing

To create a new business listing, follow these steps:

  1. From your dashboard, click on "Create a Business" button
  2. Fill out the basic information including your business name, description, and tagline
  3. Add financial details like revenue, profit margins, and growth rate
  4. Upload a logo and any supporting images or documents
  5. Specify what you're looking for (funding, advice, partnerships, etc.)
  6. Review all information and publish your listing

A complete and detailed listing will attract more interest. Be sure to highlight what makes your business unique and include any traction or validation metrics.

Updating Your Business Information

Keeping your business information current is important for maintaining credibility with potential investors. To update your listing:

  1. Go to "My Businesses" in your dashboard
  2. Select the business you want to update
  3. Click the "Edit" button
  4. Make your changes to any section
  5. Save your updates

We recommend updating your metrics quarterly or whenever significant changes occur in your business.

Managing Business Visibility

You can control who sees your business listing and what information is visible:

  • Public Listing: Visible to all platform users
  • Private Listing: Only visible to users you specifically invite
  • Selective Information: Choose which financial details are public vs. only shared upon request

To adjust these settings, go to your business page and select "Visibility Settings" from the options menu.

Finding & Connecting

Finding Relevant Businesses

Our search and filter tools make it easy to find businesses that match your interests:

  • Use the search bar to find businesses by name or keyword
  • Filter by business phase (idea, startup, growth, established)
  • Filter by what the business is looking for (funding, partnerships, etc.)
  • Sort results by various metrics including views, growth rate, or date listed
  • Save your search criteria to receive notifications when new matches appear

The advanced search options allow you to filter by more specific criteria such as industry, location, revenue range, and more.

Contacting Business Owners

When you find a business you're interested in, you can initiate contact:

  1. Navigate to the business profile
  2. Click the "Contact" or "Message" button
  3. Write a personalized message explaining your interest
  4. Include any relevant questions or information about how you might help
  5. Send your message

Business owners receive notifications and can respond through our secure messaging system. All communication history is preserved for your reference.

Networking & Building Relationships

Building relationships is key to successful business partnerships. Here are some tips for effective networking on our platform:

  • Complete your own profile with detailed information about your experience and interests
  • Be specific about what you can offer in your initial messages
  • Follow up promptly when you receive responses
  • Utilize video calls or in-person meetings when appropriate
  • Provide value before asking for anything in return

Our platform also hosts virtual networking events and webinars that can help you connect with other members of the community.

Account Management

Managing Account Settings

You can manage various aspects of your account through the Settings menu:

  • Profile Information: Update your name, photo, bio, and professional details
  • Notification Preferences: Control which events trigger email or in-app notifications
  • Privacy Settings: Manage what information is visible to other users
  • Subscription Management: View, upgrade, or manage your subscription plan
  • Linked Accounts: Connect social or professional accounts for easier sharing

To access account settings, click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

Security & Privacy

We take your security and privacy seriously. Here's how to keep your account secure:

  • Two-Factor Authentication: Enable 2FA for an extra layer of security
  • Strong Password: Use a unique, complex password
  • Session Management: Review and log out of active sessions
  • Data Privacy: Control what data is shared with other users
  • Login Alerts: Receive notifications of login attempts from new devices

If you notice any suspicious activity on your account, contact support immediately.

Billing & Subscriptions

Manage your subscription and billing information in a few simple steps:

  1. Go to "Settings" and select the "Billing" tab
  2. View your current plan and billing cycle
  3. Update payment methods
  4. View past invoices
  5. Upgrade or downgrade your subscription

If you need to cancel your subscription, you can do so from the same section. Note that some cancellations may be subject to our refund policy, which you can review in the Terms of Service.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues & Solutions

Here are solutions to some frequently encountered issues:

  • Can't log in? Try resetting your password, check for typos in your email, or make sure your account is activated.
  • Missing notifications? Check your notification settings and make sure our emails aren't being filtered to spam.
  • Payment issues? Verify your payment method is up to date and hasn't expired.
  • Slow performance? Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.
  • Missing features? Some features may be limited to specific subscription tiers.

For most issues, refreshing the page or logging out and back in can resolve temporary glitches.

Reporting Bugs or Issues

If you encounter a bug or technical issue, please report it to help us improve the platform:

  1. Go to the "Help" section in your account menu
  2. Select "Report a Problem"
  3. Describe the issue in detail, including what you were doing when it occurred
  4. Include screenshots if possible
  5. Submit the report

Our technical team reviews all bug reports and works to resolve issues as quickly as possible. For critical issues, you can also contact support directly.
